WHAT'S NEW?

EVENTS AND NEWS

WATERWATCH ACTIVITY

Thanks to financial assistance from the City of Onkaparinga a WATERWATCH activity is now available at Douglas Scrub. Catering for thirty children the kit contains dip nets for collecting water mini beasts, trays and viewing glasses and an identification chart. The activity is fun as well as educational, Leaders may download this Leaders briefing sheet.

NEW PINE FLAT COOKSHED

Thanks to the Guides SA Development Fund we have been able to erect a brand new cookshed to replace the old packing shed on Pine Flat. The old shed was getting very rustic and the white ants were feeding well so we decided it had to be replaced.

In it's place is a lovely new shed, with a verandah, two double sinks, centre table and gas stove as well as a storage unit for food. Next time you are planning your Douglas Scrub camp think about the new cookshed, it certainly makes life easier for the leaders.

NEW TENTS, MARQUEE and SHADE SHELTERS

Thanks to an Active Club grant from the SA Government the management committee has been able to purchase FIVE lovely big tents for hire by Guide Association members. Each tent sleeps four to five people with luggage. If you would like to hire these tents please enquire when booking.

We have also just acquired a 14 x 14 marquee with roll up sides as well as two shade shelters also available for Guide Association members.

Four picnic tables are now located at the rear of Douglas Scrub house and shortly shade sails will be erected over the paved area.
