The Birman
The Birman is an inquisitive, outgoing, affectionate and even-tempered breed. They are always interested
in what you are doing, often following you from room to room, and exploring any
open cupboard, bag or empty box.
Birmans are born white, point colours on the mask legs and tail gradually developing over the following weeks and into
adulthood, the feet, gauntlets and body staying white. Original colours of
the Birman are the Seal and Blue but have increased to include Chocolate, Lilac,
Red, Cream, Tortie, and Tabby, all colour points having blue eyes.
Birmans are a very easy care breed, although they have a semi-long haired coat, it does not matt and only needs a
brush around once a week. This is a breed that should be kept inside
indoors and definitely not allowed to roam free as they do not posses the
aggressive qualities to protect themselves if caught in a cat fight.
They are very adaptable and will fit into a household with dogs, other pets and children with ease. If you are
looking for a longhaired cat that is strikingly beautiful with it's gorgeous
blue eyes, easy care coat and sweet, affectionate personality, then the
Birman could be the breed for you.
There is only one thing better than owning one Birman and that is, ofcourse, owning 2.
